Town founded in 1591. It is characterized by beautiful landscapes that harmonize with the adobe houses and narrow paved streets where time seems to have stopped. The church built in the XVI century (in 1648), has a profusely golden altar. The Virgen de la Candelaria is venerated there.
One of the main attractiveness of this gulch is the Pucará of Tilcara, a fortified town built by the native Omaguacas in times before Columbus.
