Belgrano was successfully a town, city, capital city and neighborhood. In 1880 the Congress of Bs.As. gathered together in what nowadays is the Sarmiento Museum, and sanctioned the law by which Bs.As. was declared as federal capital city of Argentina. Belgrano had the honor of possessing the first school with mixed population, and several important personalities of the cultural world have lived in the neighborhood such as: Alfonsina Storni, Ernesto Sabato , Enrique Larreta, Yrurtia etc.
