Buenos Aires Tango

Excursions

The Tango Outing is an authentic alternative to the programs commonly available to individuals interested in tango, the most essential component of the cultural heritage of Buenos Aires. It is an integrated way of transforming spectators into active participants.

The program lasts approximately six hours and consists of three components:

A tango lesson. One hour and 45 minutes of instruction, offered at three skill levels: beginner, intermediate and advanced. At the end of this class, participants will be ready to visit and participate in a “milonga,” a typical tango saloon.

Dinner accompanied by an audio presentation on tango, available in Spanish, English, French and German. The material features the origins of tango, its evolution, a description of different styles, orchestras and composers. (menu options, wine, soft drinks and coffee included).

Visit to a typical “milonga,” a typical tango-dancing venue, where visitors can enjoy watching locals dance as well as practice their own steps. It is in these popular meeting places where tango is authentically preserved as an expression of the urban culture.

Transportation is included in the cost of the program. Minibuses take participants to and from the hotel and to the different locations where the programs take place.

A guide/coordinator accompanies the tour at all times to answer questions and enable participants to take full advantage of the events.

Dance partners are always available for single individuals, so that everyone has an opportunity to dance.

The audio presentation is divided into independent modules. This allows for different combinations according to the interests of the participants and offers options to repeat visitors.
